Rebuilding Careers with AI Skills & Problem-Based Learning
ReSTART empowers unemployed adults with job-relevant AI skills and human-AI collaboration competencies to support their reintegration into the labour market — focusing on remote and hybrid roles such as administrative support, customer service and virtual assistant positions.
Through an accessible problem-based learning (PBL) approach and a system of digital micro-credentials, ReSTART provides practical, flexible training that equips learners to work effectively alongside AI technologies in modern workplaces.
Objectives
Job-relevant AI skills
Equip unemployed adults with human-AI collaboration skills for virtual-assistant, admin and customer-service roles.
Problem-based curriculum
Design a PBL curriculum using real workplace scenarios to make AI training practical and engaging.
Platform & micro-credentials
Build a learning platform with micro-credentials and badging to validate newly acquired skills.
Workforce reintegration
Align training with industry needs through workplace shadowing and employer collaboration.
Policy awareness & impact
Promote AI upskilling policies and provide open-access resources for adult-education providers.
